A French language certification is required for most of our programs and applies to all international students.

French Language Certification Requirements

A French language certification is required for most of our programs and applies to all international students.
It is required for all Bachelor's and Master's programs fully taught in french, as well as for certain programs taught in English.
Below are the programs for which french certification is mandatory, the list of accepted French certfications, and the cases of exemptions from the proficiency requirement.
 
French tests accepted by Grenoble IAE - INP
  • The tests and diplomas accepted are : DELF, DALF, DUEF, TCF, TEF, TFI.
  • Details of the types of tests and results recognised by Grenoble IAE - INP are available here.
  • To be admissible, the test must have been taken within the 2 years preceding the application for admission on 1st January of the year in question. If you have obtained a diploma in French (DELF, DALF or DUEF), it is recognised and valid for an unlimited period.
  • The test result must be submitted with all the documents before the application deadline. A test registration certificate is not acceptable. Grenoble IAE - INP does not organise certification sessions.
List of programs concerned by French tests

Non-French students applying to bachelor's and master's degree programs (full-time, work-study and Executive Education) taught in French must provide a certificate attesting to a min. B2 level of proficiency in French for admission.
 

Non-French students applying  in Full English-taught programs :
For the following programs fully taught in English, no French pre-requisite is required: 
Exemptions from French Proficiency Certification
  • To qualify for a French language certification exemption, you must meet one of the following criteria :
  • Be a Candidate from a country where French is an official language (ID required): see the list of countries here (PDF)
  • Be a foreign national who obtained a French baccalaureate at a French lycée abroad.
  • Be a foreign national who holds a higher education French diploma in French.
  • Have completed two years of higher education at a French institution and in the French language.

Language proficiency can also be assessed and validated during an admission interview.
