International exchange

The second semester of the L3 Bachelor degree in Management year is dedicated to international experience. Student mobility is compulsory and can take one of two forms, depending on the student's choice:

  • Study Abroad: a study stay at an international partner university, starting in early January, depending on the start date of the semester at the partner university.
  • Internship Abroad: international internship mobility, starting in April, preceded by courses on the Grenoble campus, from January to March.

Study Abroad

The “Study Abroad” mobility program is aimed exclusively at students in the L3 Bachelor degree in Management, who have the choice, during the second semester of the program, of either an international internship or an exchange semester at an international partner university.
As an exchange student, you are enrolled at both Grenoble IAE - INP and your host university. You do not pay the host university's registration fees. At the end of your mobility, you will receive a transcript of records and credits (ECTS) from the host university, which will be recognized as part of your bachelor degree program at Grenoble IAE - INP.
In your application for the L3 Bachelor degree in Management, if you choose the international “Study Abroad” option, you must select 3 partner universities for your mobility.

How do I choose my international mobility destination at a partner university and how I will be assigned a destination?

You must select 3 partner universities from the list of destinations available here. (Download the file here)

Most of Grenoble IAE's partner universities have a course offer in English. Some of these universities may also have the option to take courses in the native language of the host university. If the student's language level permits, he or she may take courses in the language of the host university.
Applicants should consult the list of possible destinations and make their wishes based on the course offer and the language level required from the partner university. It is also important to consider the cost of the mobility project, depending on the destinations chosen.

Study abroad - Destination tips" document provides additional information on most destinations.

Students will be assigned to a partner university on the basis of :

  • The student's wishes
  • Language skills
  • Motivations expressed during the selection process (application and interviews)
  • Places available in each destination

Mobility scheduling procedure :

  • September: Allocation committee (assignments are sent by e-mail at the beginning of the school year).
  • September to December: Support in preparing for mobility (workshops, information meetings on mobility grants, individual assistance, activities and experience-sharing events with former undergraduates).
  • From January: Departure for the exchange semester and follow-up with the International Relations Department until the end of the exchange.

For International students

We recommend that all international students make the most of the academic year in France and at Grenoble IAE by choosing the international internship mobility option, as this allows them to benefit from a more significant Grenoble IAE academic experience with on-site courses from September to March.
An internship in France can be considered an “international internship” for new international students (or those who have been in France for less than 2 years). If you are looking for an international internship, you will need to take the necessary steps to obtain the residence permit required by your destination country.
If an international student wishes to apply for study mobility, he or she must justify this request so that the International Relations Department can assess the feasibility of this type of mobility.

Internship Abroad

Students who choose this international experience must complete a minimum 12-week internship abroad, outside France, or outside their home country for international students.
The internship must be completed between April and August 31 of the academic year, and is preceded by classes on the Grenoble campus from January to March.
From September onwards, future interns receive support in their search for an internship: preparation and correction of CVs, internship search methodology, personalized meetings, support in the elaboration of the internship agreement.

Mobility Grants

Mobility grants are available and presented at the beginning of the academic year. The aim of these grants/mobility aids is not to finance the entire cost of a stay abroad, but to ensure that the extra cost is not an obstacle to departure. The amounts and conditions of eligibility are defined each year by Grenoble INP's International Mobility Department.
